Frequent Asked Questions

  • Functional neurology is a non-invasive, evidence-informed approach that focuses on how the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system are functioning rather than just structure alone. It uses targeted neurological assessments and personalized therapies (such as eye movements, balance training, sensory stimulation, and specific chiropractic adjustments) to improve communication within the nervous system. The goal is to support the brain’s ability to adapt (neuroplasticity) and restore more normal function.

  • No, you do not need a referral to book an appointment. You can schedule directly with the clinic. If you have imaging, test results, or a referral from another healthcare provider, you’re welcome to bring them, but it is not required.

  • We focus on neurological and function-based conditions, including but not limited to:

    • Dizziness and vertigo

    • Concussions and post-concussion symptoms

    • Migraines and chronic headaches

    • Dysautonomia (including POTS)

    • Balance and coordination issues

    • Motion sensitivity

    • Functional neurological symptoms

Care is individualized, and treatment plans are based on your specific symptoms, history, and neurological assessment.

  • Tilt Table Testing is used to evaluate how your autonomic nervous system responds to changes in position, particularly from lying down to standing. It is commonly used to assess conditions such as:

    • Fainting (syncope)

    • Orthostatic intolerance

    • Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

The test helps identify abnormal heart rate and blood pressure responses, which can guide diagnosis and treatment planning.

  • The best way to determine if care is appropriate is through a comprehensive initial assessment. This includes a detailed history and neurological examination to understand the root of your symptoms. Based on your findings, the practitioner will let you know:

    • If you are a good candidate for care

    • What results you can reasonably expect

    • Whether co-management or referral to another provider is recommended

The approach is collaborative and focused on ensuring you receive the most appropriate care for your condition.

If You’ve Been Dealing With…

  • dizziness or vertigo

  • unexplained fatigue or lightheadedness

  • migraines or headaches

  • post-concussion symptoms

  • balance or coordination issues

  • symptoms that haven’t fully resolved

We take the time to assess what may be contributing to your symptoms and guide you toward the next best step in care.
